Privacy policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used and shared when you visit or make a purchase from the HappyHeats online store (the "Site"). It has been drawn up in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act (loi Informatique et Libertés).
Data controller
Your personal information is processed by Akli Abd-Al-Ghani, who operates the HappyHeats store, 8 Allée des Bouleaux, 95230 Soisy-sous-Montmorency, France. Email: contact@happyheats.com.
Personal information we collect
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically collected information as "Device Information".
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- "Cookies" are data files that are placed on your device. Cookies that are essential for the Site to work (session, cart, security, payment) are set without your consent, because the Site cannot function without them. Analytics and advertising cookies are only set with your consent, given through the cookie banner shown on your first visit. Refusing these cookies has no effect on your access to the Site or on your purchases.
- "Log files" track actions occurring on the Site and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
- "Web beacons", "tags" and "pixels" are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site. Advertising pixels (for example the Meta pixel) are only activated with your consent.
Additionally, when you make or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address and phone number, as well as your payment information. Your payment information (card number, etc.) is processed directly by our secure payment providers: we never have access to it. We also keep the messages you exchange with our customer service. We refer to this information as "Order Information".
When we talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.
How do we use your personal information?
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, handling returns, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
- communicate with you and answer your requests;
- screen our orders for potential risk or fraud;
- when in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link included in each of our messages.
We use the Device Information that we collect (in particular your IP address) to help us screen for potential risk and fraud and, with your consent, to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site) and to assess the success of our advertising and marketing campaigns.
Legal bases. We process your information to fulfill your order (contract), to comply with our legal obligations (accounting, tax), to pursue our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, Site security, offers sent to our customers for similar products) or with your consent (analytics and advertising cookies, newsletter if you are not a customer).
Sharing your personal information
We never sell your Personal Information. We only share it with third parties that help us use it as described above:
- we use Shopify to host our online store and process payments – you can read more about how Shopify uses your Personal Information here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy;
- our suppliers and carriers receive the information needed to prepare and deliver your parcel (name, address, phone number);
- if you have accepted it through the cookie banner, we use Meta's advertising and analytics tools (Facebook, Instagram) – you can read more here: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.
Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Behavioural advertising
As described above, and only if you have accepted it, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you.
You can opt out of targeted advertising at any time: by refusing advertising cookies in our cookie banner (to change your choice, clear the Site's cookies in your browser and the banner will appear again), or in the ad settings of your Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Do not track
Please note that we do not alter our Site's data collection practices when we see a "Do Not Track" signal from your browser. However, the choices you make in our cookie banner are always respected.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that it be corrected, updated or deleted. You can also ask us to restrict its processing, object to its processing (including direct marketing, at any time), request its portability, withdraw your consent at any time, and set instructions about what should happen to your data after your death.
If you would like to exercise these rights, please contact us using the contact information below. We will reply within one month at most. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask you for proof of identity.
Please also note that some of our service providers (including Shopify and Meta) may process your information outside Europe, including in Canada and the United States. These transfers are covered by the safeguards provided for by the GDPR: an adequacy decision of the European Commission or standard contractual clauses adopted by the Commission.
Data retention
When you place an order through the Site, we keep your Order Information in our records for the following periods:
- customer data: for the whole duration of our business relationship, then 3 years after your last purchase or last contact with us;
- invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as required by law;
- newsletter subscribers who have not made a purchase: 3 years after the last contact, or until you unsubscribe;
- cookies: 13 months maximum.
Minors
The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has sent us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
